A Kingdom Key Devotional

A Kingdom Key Devotional by Bishop Thomas Wesley Weeks, Sr.

Should We Do It?

Should we do everything we can do? This is a very important question that needs an answer. The Bible clearly answers this question in the negative. Limitations have always been placed on man. Successful living has always been the ability to live within given boundaries. Adam was asked not to eat of one tree while he lived in paradise. We are asked to live within the boundaries of the law. As with Adam of old and us today, when we decide to ignore the boundaries, disastrous consequences will follow.

There is a major dilemma now facing the human race that brings this question to the forefront. Cloning is now a reality. Man has taken the responsibility to decide the when, how, if, where and what of life. We have crossed a boundary. I feel it is a very dangerous boundary. Can you ever have a perfect clone when the subject is not perfect? Who is going to decide what is to be cloned? We are now almost ready to go to war with a couple of nations because we think they are producing weapons of mass destruction. What if someone decided to clone a thousand Hitler's? Who will stop them?

With power and ability come responsibility. As we tread into unchartered waters with powers never before realized, we must make sure our course does not lead us into territories we did not plan to travel. Just because we can produce a nuclear bomb does not mean we should use it. Likewise, just because we can clone, does not mean we should!
